San Jose, La Fortuna & Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Nine nights lodging at 4-star hotels (4 nights in San Jose, 2 nights in La Fortuna and 3 nights in Tamarindo) The hotels will be separate from, but nearby, the student-athletes.

Costa Rica Fan Tour #1 (June 11 - 20, 2025) is for fans accompanying athletes on our high school girls volleyball tour

Costa Rica Fan Tour #2 (June 24 - July 3, 2024) is for fans accompanying athletes on our high school girls basketball
Participants
Fan Tours are open to family members, friends, and supporters of our high school Beyond Sports athletes. (Note: The minimum age to participate in a Fan Tour is 10 years old.)
Accommodations
All Fan Tours are arranged in 4-star hotels. All rooms are Double Occupancy with two single beds. If desired, travelers can upgrade to a Single Occupancy Room.
Payment
A $250 deposit per person is required to reserve a spot on a Beyond Sports Fan Tour. Additional payments will be paid in a series of installments:

Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - San Jose
Welcome to Costa Rica! Arrive at San Jose International Airport (SJO), where our team will greet you. After Welcome & Orientation, enjoy a delightful Welcome Dinner to kick off your Costa Rican adventure.
Day 2 - San Jose
Embark on a scenic day trip to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, where you’ll marvel at stunning waterfalls and encounter local wildlife like butterflies, toucans, and monkeys. In the evening, savor traditional Costa Rican cuisine with panoramic views at Tiquicia Restaurant.
Day 3 - San Jose
Discover the vibrant culture of San Jose with a city excursion. Highlights include iconic landmarks like the National Theater and a visit to the artisan market. Wrap up with a hands-on cultural activity. In the evening, cheer on your athletes at Game #1. Independent dinner.
Day 4 - San Jose
Choose how to spend your morning! Opt for a relaxed start at the hotel, or join a half-day trip to Cartago to explore the historic basilica and town. Return in time to watch Game #2 in the evening and cheer for the team.
Day 5 - La Fortuna
Morning Transfer to the enchanting town of La Fortuna, with the iconic Arenal Volcano as your backdrop. Enjoy some free time to explore, followed by an evening of relaxation and included group dinner at Los Lagos Hot Springs.
Day 6 - La Fortuna
Take in breathtaking rainforest views during a morning zip-lining tour through the rainforest! Travelers who do not wish to zip line can choose to hike through the rainforest or recharge at the hotel. Game #3 and independent dinner in the evening.
Day 7 - Tamarindo
Say goodbye to the mountains as we make our way to the beautiful beach town of Tamarindo. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the beach. Independent dinner.
Day 8 - Tamarindo
A half-day to explore Tamarindo at your leisure! In the late afternoon, board a sunset catamaran cruise, where you’ll toast to new friendships and unforgettable memories. Independent dinner.
Day 9 - Tamarindo
Spend a full day enjoying the famous white sands of Tamarindo Beach. In the evening, join us for a special Farewell Dinner to celebrate an amazing journey.
Day 10 - Travel Day
Say our goodbyes as we head to Liberia International Airport (LIR) for a full day of travel back to the U.S.A.
Please understand that the final itinerary may change slightly based on the confirmed game schedule. We will do our best to follow this exact itinerary.
Fan Tour FAQ
When is the deadline to register?
Register by December 20th to receive our $300 Super-Early Early Bird Discount. The final day to register for a Fan Tour is March 15th, 2025.
Can I stay with my student-athlete at the same hotel?
To enable us to continue providing an independent experience for our student-athletes, our Fan Tour hotels are separate from the student-athletes. All Fan Tour hotels will be within 30 minutes of where are students are staying.
When will I be able to see my student-athlete?
Accompanying fans will be able to see their student-athlete at the exhibition games, as well as during the final celebratory meal on the last night of the tour. We also offer 'Check-Out Time Blocks,' during which you can sign your athlete out of the Athlete Tour to spend time together.
Can I opt out of activities on the itinerary?
Yes, participants may opt out of activities on the itinerary. Please note, any replacement activities are at the expense of the participant.
How will I travel to Costa Rica?
Tour participants are responsible for arranging their own air travel to and from Costa Rica. We provide detailed flight booking instructions in the pre-departure process.
Who will meet me at the airport in Costa Rica?
Our Beyond Sports staff will be waiting for you at the airport in Costa Rica. Once you connect with our team in Costa Rica, our staff will be accessible for you for the duration of the tour.
