Tour Details
Per Person Cost
$3,995 (+$600 for a Single Occupancy Room, optional)

Nine nights lodging accommodations (3 nights in Milan/Lake Como area, 3 nights in Montecatini Terme and 3 nights in the Venice/Mestre area)

*Airport transfers are included and arranged for students who arrive and depart on the designated days. If students wish to extend their stay on either end of the trip, they are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the hotel.

Eligibility
This is an invitation-only tour. We are looking for the top athletes in collegiate softball. If you would like to be considered for an invitation, please complete our Tour Application.
Capacity
This tour is capped at 18 student-athletes. Roster spots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Accommodations
All overnight stays are in 4-star accommodations. Participants will share a room with 1-2 other travelers, however, every participant will have their own bed.
Payment
A $250 deposit is required to reserve your spot. Additional payments will be paid in a series of installments:

Italy Softball Tour, 2024
I would recommend beyond sports because it gave me a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play the sport I love while traveling a new country and making new friends. I learned so much about culture and softball through this trip and I would recommend it to anyone!! It was a big leap of faith for me to go on my own but I wouldn't change it for the world!

Tour Itinerary
June 1 - Travel Day
Travel day! Because of time zone differences, if you are traveling from the US, you will need to depart on June 1st to arrive to Italy on June 2nd.
June 2 - Milan/Lake Como
Arrival in Milan! Connect with Beyond Sports staff at the Milan (MXP) airport and transfer to the hotel. Free time to explore before afternoon hotel check-in. Evening practice session with your new teammates followed by a welcome dinner and trip orientation.
June 3 - Milan/Lake Como
Morning guided tour of Milan and free time to explore the city center. Game #1 in the evening.
June 4 - Milan/Lake Como
Morning boat tour on Lake Como including a visit to Bellagio; known as the "Pearl of the Lake." Afternoon free time to enjoy Lake Como at your leisure. Game #2 in the evening.
June 5 - Montecatini Terme
Morning transfer to the Tuscany region of Italy. Stop at a local farm along the way for a group cooking class and lunch. Evening hotel check-in. Optional trip up the mountain on a cable car for beautiful views of the town and surrounding region.
June 6 - Montecatini Terme
Morning guided tour of Florence with stops at Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Gates of Paradise and Giotto's Bell Tower. Game #3 in the evening.
June 7 - Montecatini Terme
Morning departure for the Italian Riviera and the beautiful Cinque Terre villages. Full day to explore the beaches of Cinque Terre and the 5 villages that make up this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
June 8 - Venice/Mestre
Morning transfer to Venice. Stop along the way in Bologna for a bike tour and free time. Evening hotel check-in.
June 9 - Venice/Mestre
Morning guided tour of Venice, including a ride on a gondola. Afternoon free time to explore the city center.
June 10 - Venice/Mestre
Day trip to a nearby beach resort to relax and swim at your leisure. Farewell dinner in the evening.
June 11 - Departure Day
Travel day! Depart from the Venice (VCE) airport with friendships and memories to last a lifetime!
The final itinerary may change slightly based on the confirmed game schedule. We will do our best to follow this exact itinerary.

Who can join the tour as a fan?
Family members, friends, and supporters of our college-level athletes are welcome to join as fans! If you want to share in the experience, cheer from the sidelines, and travel with the team, you can register to experience every part of the journey alongside your athlete.
What are the fans included in?
As a registered fan, you’ll participate in all aspects of the tour alongside your athlete. This includes attending games, joining group activities, exploring the local culture, and enjoying free time together. By joining us, you’ll share the full experience, from team gatherings to cultural excursions.
What are the benefits of registering as a fan, as opposed to planning my own travel?
Registering as a fan takes the hassle out of travel. As a registered fan, all logistics are covered, including transportation, accommodations, and planned excursions. You won’t have to worry about separate bookings or missing out on team activities. Plus, you’ll have the chance to meet and connect with other fans who share your passion, creating a fun, supportive community along the way!

Accept Your Invitation
If you received an invitation from your coach, you can accept your invite and begin registration. If you did not receive an invite, but you are interested in joining the tour, please complete our tour application.

Register & Deposit
When you are ready to commit to the tour, submit your $250 deposit to reserve your spot. The full cost of the tour is not due immediately. Payment deadlines are outlined above and in registration.

Begin Travel Prep
Once registered, your tour coordinator will connect with you to share pre-departure information. We encourage all students who do not have a valid passport to apply for a passport as soon as possible!

How was I selected for this tour?
Tour invite lists are a competitive selection process. We select conference statistical leaders, all-conference honorees, and coach recommendations.
Who will be my tour coach?
Beyond Sports is proud of our incredible network of college coaches that join our international trips as tour coaches! All tour coaches are current college coaches. We announce our tour coaches in the Spring.
How will I travel to Italy?
Tour participants are responsible for arranging their own air travel to and from Italy. If you’re interested in coordinating your travel plans with other tour students, please contact our staff to be connected with your tour teammates.
What do the international travel days look like?
Arrival Day - Tour participants should aim to arrive at the Milan (MXP) airport by the afternoon of June 2nd. Our tour staff will greet you upon arrival and help transfer you to the hotel. We encourage you to plan accordingly so you arrive on time and can attend your team practice and orientation.
Departure Day - Students will be transferred to the Venice (VCE) airport on the morning of June 11th.
Note: More specific flight booking information will be shared with you after you complete registration.
Can a family member or teammate travel with me?
